Encompassing the cinema, the performance, His work is inspired by both archaeological artifacts and the natural world, exploring the temporal fluctuations between ancient civilizations and contemporary societies. He received the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale. He has presented his work at the Bource de Commerce of the Pinault Collection, the Egyptian Museum in Turin, the Giacometti Foundation and the National Gallery in London. He has participated in the biennials of Venice, São Paulo, Kochi-Muziris, Sharjah, as well as the Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art of the Urals and Manifesta. His work is part of collections at MoMA, Centre Pompidou, Guggenheim, MACBA, British Museum and Jameel Arts Centre.

Ambientada en la zona fronteriza entre Chipre y el norte ocupado, The Watchman explora el deterioro del concepto de frontera a través de la narración rutinaria de un soldado que vigila sin un fin concreto. Agotado por los protocolos que rigen su vida, el encuentro con una mujer de edad marca un giro onírico en el que la aparición de figuras ambiguas cuestiona su realidad. La película crea un universo en el que un tiempo suspendido y vacío abre la puerta a presencias fantasmales de un pasado marcado por la guerra, convirtiéndose en una metáfora de la disolución de las certezas acerca del enemigo, el deber y el concepto de frontera.

Set in the border zone between Cyprus and the occupied north, The Watchman explores the erosion of the concept of borders through the monotonous narration of a soldier who keeps watch without a clear purpose. Weary from the protocols that govern his life, an encounter with an elderly woman marks a dreamlike turning point, as the appearance of ambiguous figures begins to challenge his sense of reality. The film constructs a universe where suspended, empty time opens the door to ghostly presences from a war-torn past, becoming a metaphor for the dissolution of certainties surrounding the enemy, duty, and the very notion of borders.
