Commissioned for the 24th Paiz Art Biennial
This participation is supported by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Guatemala City.
The project explores the emotional bond kids develop with the objects that accompany them during the early stages of their lives. It proposes a performance inspired by a flea market, celebrating the act of letting go as a step toward growth. A site specific, environmental installation reinterprets metamorphosis to give it new meaning in the present. He references classical mythologies, the ephemeral elements of baroque festivities, and the Kabbalistic mannerism of Arcimboldo, intertwining them with archaeological references from Mesoamerica to create a hybrid and phantasmagorical cosmogony.
